King Salmon and Coho Salmon Guided Trips 2025

Season Timeline:

Humptulips River King Salmon, September 7th – October 14th.

Chehalis River Coho Salmon, October 15th – November 5th.

Clearwater, Humptulips and Chehalis Coho, November 6th – 28th.

2025 Coho Salmon prediction:

We are expecting 28,319 Coho on the Humptulips River System. I am expecting this to be one of my best coho seasons in recent years. Chehalis coho for 2025 is INCREDIBLE. There is 63,627 Hatchery Coho and 58,043 Wild Coho returning, a huge increase in run size. The A-run of coho should be stellar fishing on the humptulips, these early coho will mix with the chinook toward the end of September and peak during the middle too late part of October. This makes a killer combination day between targeting Primarily Coho and some chinook opportunity’s. NOVEMBER THE BIG COHO ARRIVE!

2025 King Salmon Prediction:
2025 King Salmon Prediction. we are looking at around 6,897 Fall Chinook on the Humptulips which is parallel to last years great season. Averaging around 12-20 opportunities’ at king salmon bites per trip. My Favorite trips!

Guided Trip Timeline’s & Overview

September limits are 1 Hatchery Chinook. October, is one Hatchery Chinook or one Hatchery Coho. September is spent near the ocean in tidewater. Stealth fishing chinook with light tackle as they acclimate to freshwater conditions in deep tidal influenced pools. Middle of October, I will swing the program to targeting more coho in combination with chinook and some chum opportunity’s nearly every trip, these days are action packed as the runs blend. Late October, is a special month. Anglers also have the opportunity to possibly catch and release a large true wild Chinook with really good coho fishing.
Around November 8th, The B-Run of Coho starts heating up. It turns into a wide open bite by the middle of November during the peak of the B-Run, I usually consider this the peak of true, trophy Coho season. The B-run should be fantastic this year and a coho pushing 20lbs won’t be hard to find! Twitching Coho and Spinner fishing Coho are primary techniques used throughout the season.
